Sexton & Company was founded on the idea that it is better to do several things well than to try to be all things to all people. We are appellate lawyers. We understand the dynamics of the appeal process and the often subtle differences between a compelling appellate argument and an unpersuasive retelling of the same arguments that won or lost at trial. We practice primarily in state and federal appellate courts, and we write, teach and lecture in the area of appellate advocacy. Our attorneys aspire to be both exceptional advocates for our clients and leaders at the appellate bar who help to shape the law of Connecticut.  

Our lawyers also work in the areas of school law and special education, representing children and parents in obtaining necessary educational accommodations. We believe that our school law work fits nicely with our appellate focus, as each of those areas of the law requires the same attention to detail, thorough analysis and clear communication. Our attorneys have consulted on and litigated numerous complex matters in these areas, in administrative proceedings and state and federal courts, and they have the experience to handle even the most difficult issues.
